Yoga for Teachers & Staff
My daughters are currently both at secondary school and I have the utmost respect and a great appreciation for all the hard work and emotional energy teachers are required to give, day in, day out. Teachers are under increasing pressure from management & governors, Ofsted, parents and their students and they need to take care of themselves in order to stay happy and well. Teacher sessions focus on releasing tension from the back, neck and shoulders, then stretching & strengthening the whole body in a mindful practice that gives the mind a chance to switch off and the body a chance to move deeply and thoroughly. Learning simple breathing, relaxation and meditation techniques can help calm the mind, producing a long-lasting feeling of being calmer, more positive and more creative.
This last academic year I have taught one or more of the following in half a dozen schools throughout Staffordshire and the West Midlands: - one-off stress management & relaxation sessions for teaching staff - a series of sessions to teach staff breathing, relaxation and meditation techniques to use for themselves and to teach their students - weekly after-school classes |
