Weekend Yoga Retreat - Frequently Asked Questions
Where am I going?
Our home for the weekend lies less than an hour's drive away from Lichfield/Burntwood, near Loughborough. We can give more detailed directions closer to the time.
Where do I park?
There is ample secure parking at the house, off the road and near the house.
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive between 4 & 5pm on Friday 29th August. We would love to welcome you anytime from 4pm and it'd be great if you were there by 5pm so you can settle in to your room, set up your yoga equipment in our yoga room, get a drink & have a look around and say hi to the other guests.
Our Welcome session will begin at 6pm.
If you need to arrive later than 6pm, let us know and we will save a place in the yoga room for you and if needs be, set aside some dinner too.
Do I need my own mat?
If you have your own mat please bring it with you. If you don't have a mat let us know in advance and we will bring one for you for use during the weekend.
What else should I bring?
The following is a list of optional items that might make your yoga and stay a bit more comfortable. Please remember that while it will be August in England, we would love to be outside sometimes for yoga and at night time, so bring a few layers, especially warm socks, an oodie if you have one, & a hat.
- a water bottle & a sealable flask for hot drinks. No open glasses & mugs in the yoga room please.
- a snuggly blanket, socks &/or an extra layer for relaxation
- warm walking socks, at least one warm jumper, waterproof jacket, beanie hat (it's nice sitting outside at night by the fire so be prepared)
- sunscreen & a sun hat
- sturdy shoes for walking
- your own alcohol if you'd like a glass of wine with dinner or some port looking out over the fire. It's not a dry weekend but it's not a wild crazy one either ;-) Please respect some people will want to be in bed early.
You can leave most of your yoga equipment in the yoga room throughout the weekend but as this will be accessible at all times, we'd recommend you never leave valuables anywhere other than your bedroom.
Any valuables brought with you are entirely at your own risk and Emma's Yoga & Mindfulness will not be liable for any damage or losses.
What will the food be like?
All food is freshly prepared on site by our amazing team of vegan chefs. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience of delivering crowd-pleasing nutritious and delicious food and we are looking forward to working with them again. There will be a tantalizing Indian feast one night, seasonal soups & salads, puddings, flapjacks & freshly made breads. If previous experience is anything to go by, you will feel well fed and nurtured during the weekend. In addition, should you wish to bring any of your own snacks or chocolate, please feel free to do so. Please let us know on the booking form if you have any food allergies.
Will we be outside?
Yes. We hope to be outdoors as much as the weather permits, so be prepared for that. If it is too hot or cold or wet, we'll be in our wonderful yoga room. We reserve the right to modify our practice dependant on the weather.
How accessible are the grounds & house?
The house is quite accessible with a lift up to the first and second floors. Please let us know if you need to avoid steps and stairs when you book so we can allocate your room accordingly. Walks in the grounds may involve uneven ground, stiles, hills, gravel paths and no doubt some mud, so please be prepared for this with sensible shoes. Walks on this weekend will be self-guided so it is up to you how far you wander. Please let us know when booking if you have any mobility issues and we will try to accommodate you.
Is there a minimum age?
