Do I have to do yoga &/or mindfulness?No! I truly believe that anyone can do yoga. People can assume yoga means standing on one leg with your other foot tickling your nose but I promise there are a million wonderful yoga things you can do in a chair, lying down or on your couch. But you still don't have to do yoga.
Similarly, mindfulness is often thought to be emptying your mind, but even the Dalai Lama says he can't do that, so let's just go for remembering how to be in the moment and appreciate some very simple ways to slow our brains down a bit. Over the years, I have also trained in the following areas so now YOU get to pick from the following ways we can reduce stress, improve happiness & to let your best self shine it brightest;

What would we actually do in a session?We might work out how you physically hold stress in your body and then I'll give you your own little video to help release tension, make you take some nice deep breaths and then pause; all in less than 15 minutes a day. Even if you want to do it all in a chair, there is a lot of yoga you can do!
You might prefer to take it easy, so I could guide you through a deep relaxation & then give you a recording to listen to at home. We can look at how you could spend time outside in a local park (not looking too weird) connecting with nature, the seasons & your senses. It's incredible what just 10 minutes a day can do for you! We might look at your sleeping habits and how you bookend (start & end) your day. Maybe your diet needs a little tweak here & there; I LOVE food, so it's going to be kind. You may benefit greatly from simply having someone to listen to you, someone outside our own life. I can teach you some CBT techniques to help you escape habitual ways of thinking that might be making life harder than it needs to be. |
